Tree Fort Bikes
Spring 2012 - Winter 2014
Connecting a community of passionate riders.
At Tree Fort Bikes, a Detroit-area bicycle shop and online bike retailer, I created YouTube how-to videos, blog and social posts, product copy, and news stories on local cycling events.
Showing off the dirt and a culture of great service.
On this team of adventurous cyclists known for speedy order delivery and mountain bike community leadership, my goal was to showcase those passions for the web.
To connect with the brand’s loyal and new customers, we created a calendar of fresh web content in order to educate, share our unique love of cycling, and entice gear lovers to try something new. Using multiple channels — from YouTube to the site’s blog — we used customer service research to map out topics for articles, videos, and social media posts that would inform and inspire riders who love the dirt.
Translating bicycle mechanics into accessible content.
For “Winter Tires: 4 Staff Picks to Shred the Slush,” I photographed and interviewed bike mechanics Jesse and Juan to get the scoop on how four tires performed during a frozen parking lot test ride.
After interviewing bike mechanics, I created a script and appeared in an instructional YouTube video called, “What is a Bicycle Stem?”
